There are no bar-council-style entry pop-ups on this site, so this paragraph does the same job in plain words. By reading these pages you acknowledge that you are looking for information about marriage procedure in Delhi of your own accord; that no part of this website is an advertisement, a personal communication, a solicitation, an invitation or an inducement to seek professional services; and that nothing here is intended to create a lawyer-client relationship.

The reason this matters is Rule 36 in Section IV, Chapter II of Part VI of the Bar Council of India Rules, which prohibits an advocate from soliciting work or advertising, whether directly or indirectly, including through circulars, personal communications, interviews, or by furnishing or inspiring newspaper comment. The rule is old and it is strict.

It is not absolute. By Resolution No. 50/2008, notified through STBC (Cir.) No. 7/2008 dated 30 April 2008, the Bar Council of India added a proviso permitting an advocate to furnish limited factual particulars on a website - name, address, telephone and email, enrolment number with the date and the State Bar Council and Bar Association, professional and academic qualifications, and areas of practice - under intimation to and as approved by the Bar Council of India. The proviso permits those particulars. It does not permit promotion, comparison, testimonials, ratings or claims of success.

This site is written on that footing. It explains procedure. It does not claim to be better than anyone, does not carry client testimonials, does not publish success rates, and does not rank or compare advocates. If any line on this site reads to you as promotional, it is a drafting failure on our part rather than an intention - tell us and we will change it.

2. Reading this site does not make us your advocate

No lawyer-client relationship, and no professional relationship of any kind, is created by your reading a page here, downloading a checklist, or sending us a first enquiry on WhatsApp, email or the contact form.

That relationship begins only when a matter has been discussed, accepted, and engagement confirmed in writing. Until that point, please do not send us confidential material, and do not assume that anything you have sent is protected as a privileged communication.

Two practical consequences. First, if you have a deadline - an objection period running, a visa appointment, a limitation date - do not rely on an unanswered message to us as though it were instruction given to a lawyer. Call. Second, if we have declined your matter or have not yet accepted it, we are not tracking your dates and you should not assume anyone is.

3. Information is not advice - the honest difference

Our guides describe how a process generally works in Delhi: what the Special Marriage Act requires, what the SDM office asks for, how the 30-day notice runs, what changed in the district map on 1 January 2026. That is information. It is accurate as far as we can make it, and it is written from primary sources.

Advice is different. Advice takes your documents, your dates, your prior marriage, your parents' position, your visa timeline and your address history, and tells you what to do. We cannot do that from a webpage, because we have not seen any of it.

The gap between the two is where people get hurt. A guide that says a divorced person can remarry is correct; whether you can remarry today depends on whether the appeal period under your decree has run, whether an appeal is pending, and what your decree actually says. Please treat every page here as a starting point for a conversation, not as a substitute for one.

4. We are not a government office, and we do not issue certificates

Tatkal Court Marriage is a private professional service. We are not the Delhi Government, not the Revenue Department, not an SDM office, not a court, and not a registrar. We do not run, and are not affiliated with, any government portal.

Your marriage certificate is issued by the Marriage Officer or the concerned Registrar under the Special Marriage Act, 1954 or under section 8 of the Hindu Marriage Act, 1955 read with the Delhi (Compulsory Registration of Marriage) Order, 2014. Our role stops at preparing your file correctly, submitting it to the right office and following it up. The decision and the certificate are theirs.

We are also not an agent of any Arya Samaj institution. Where an Arya Samaj marriage is the right route for an eligible couple, we explain what that ceremony is, what the institution's own certificate is and is not, and what registration step must follow. The institution is independent of us.

5. Why nobody can promise you a same-day court marriage

This is the clause we would most like you to carry away from this page, because it is where money is lost in this market.

Solemnisation under the Special Marriage Act, 1954 runs on a statutory clock. Section 5 requires a notice of intended marriage to the Marriage Officer. Section 6 requires the notice to be entered in the Marriage Notice Book and published. Section 7 gives thirty days for anyone to object. Only after those thirty days can the marriage be solemnised.

That clock is enforced against the officer, not against you. Section 46 provides that a Marriage Officer who solemnises a marriage under the Act in contravention of the conditions is liable to imprisonment and fine. That is why no SDM in Delhi will do it early - it is his liberty at stake, not a fee.

There is a second clock people miss. Section 14 provides that if a marriage is not solemnised within three months from the date of the notice, the notice and all proceedings on it lapse, and a fresh notice is required. Couples who take the notice and then travel lose their thirty days entirely.

So: a same-day Arya Samaj ceremony is a real thing for an eligible Hindu couple, and it is followed by a separate registration step. A same-day court marriage under the Special Marriage Act is not a real thing, and anyone selling you one is either describing something else or misleading you. We do not offer it, we do not imply it, and where our pages use the word 'tatkal' we use it about speed of preparation and coordination, never about escaping a statutory period.

6. No guarantees of outcome, date or approval

We do not promise that your application will be approved, that it will be approved by a particular date, that no objection will be filed, or that a particular officer will take a particular view. Anyone who does is promising something they do not control.

What we do commit to is process: telling you the honest route, preparing the file properly, telling you what the realistic range is, telling you promptly when something slips, and not disappearing when it does.

If you are comparing services, this is the question to ask: 'what happens if it is refused?' A service that has never thought about the answer has never had to.

7. About the figures and legal references on this site

Where we quote a government fee, we quote the published figure from an official source and we name the source. Where we quote a statute, we cite the section so you can read it yourself. Where we describe an office's practice rather than a rule, we say so, because practice is not law and it varies between sub-divisions.

Our own professional fee is never presented as a government fee. It is quoted for your matter in writing before work begins, and it depends on the route, the complexity and whether an advocate's drafting or appearance is needed. We would rather quote once, honestly, than advertise a low number and revise it.

Third-party costs - notary, stamp paper, translation, apostille, photographs, courier - are separate and are yours.

8. Accuracy, dates and the limits of any legal page on the internet

Every substantive page on this site carries a last-reviewed date, and that date only moves when the page's content actually changes. That is deliberate: a page that re-dates itself every night while saying the same thing is lying to you and to search engines.

Even so, three things go stale. Statutes get amended. Office practice changes without notice. And administrative geography changes - Delhi went from 11 districts and 33 sub-divisions to 13 districts and 39 sub-divisions with effect from 1 January 2026, which invalidated the jurisdiction section of nearly every competing page on the internet overnight.

So please confirm anything time-critical with the concerned office or with us before you act on it. And if you find something on this site that is out of date or wrong, write to care@tatkalcourtmarriage.com. We correct genuine errors, and the page's review date moves when we do.

9. Testimonials, reviews and third-party content

We do not publish client testimonials or case studies on this website. Partly that is the Bar Council position on advertising; mostly it is that publishing a couple's marriage story, even with consent and even anonymised, is not a risk we are willing to take on their behalf.

Reviews about us that appear on third-party platforms are written by those users and hosted by those platforms. We do not control them, we do not buy them, and we do not treat them as a claim by us.

Links from this site to statutes, judgments, government pages and news reports are provided so you can verify what we say. We do not control those sites, we are not responsible for their content or availability, and a link is not an endorsement.

10. Impersonation, and how to know you are talking to us

Marriage services attract impersonators, and a couple in a hurry is an easy target. Please treat these as fixed facts about us.

Our number is +91 93184 23172. Our email domain is tatkalcourtmarriage.com. We will never ask you for an OTP, a UPI PIN, a card CVV or a bank password. We will never ask you to pay into a personal account of a person whose name and role you have not been given in writing. We will never tell you that paying more will 'get the notice waived', because it cannot be waived.
