Cookie Policy
What this website stores in your browser, what it does not, and how to clear or block it. No advertising trackers, no cross-site profiling, no login required.
Cookie Policy: the short version
This website is deliberately light. It sets no advertising cookies, runs no cross-site trackers, and does not require you to log in or create an account. At most it uses essential storage to keep pages working and basic aggregate analytics to see which guides people read. You can block or clear everything in your browser without breaking the site.
Cookie Policy: key facts at a glance
| Advertising cookies | None. We do not advertise to you across other websites. |
|---|---|
| Third-party trackers | None embedded for profiling. |
| Login or account | Not required. There is no user account on this site. |
| Essential storage | Used only to keep the page working - remembering that you closed a menu, for example. |
| Analytics | At most aggregate page-level statistics. Not linked to your file or your enquiry. |
| Enquiry form | Sends your message to us. It is not piped into a marketing platform. |
| Can you browse with cookies blocked? | Yes. Every page, menu and link works with browser storage disabled. |
| Do Not Track | We do not build a profile, so there is nothing for a Do Not Track signal to switch off. |
| Your control | Clear or block site data from your browser settings at any time. |
| Related pages | See the Privacy Policy for how enquiry data is handled. |

1. What a cookie is, without the jargon
A cookie is a small text file a website asks your browser to keep. Some are necessary - they remember that you dismissed a menu, or that a page loaded correctly. Others exist to follow you: an advertising network drops a cookie on one site, recognises it on another, and builds a profile of what you have been reading.
In the context of this site, that second kind matters more than usual. People reading about interfaith marriage, second marriage, or police protection for couples are reading about something private, sometimes in a household where being seen reading it is a problem. Building an advertising profile out of that would be indefensible, so we do not.
2. What this site actually uses
Essential storage. A small amount of browser storage may be used to keep the interface working - for example, remembering that you closed the services menu so it does not reopen on the next page. It contains no personal information and is not sent anywhere.
Aggregate analytics. We may use basic page-level statistics to see which guides are read and where readers leave. That tells us which pages need rewriting. It is aggregate, it is not joined to your enquiry or your file, and it is not used to target you.
The enquiry form. When you submit it, the message comes to us. It does not go into a third-party marketing platform, an ad network, or a lead-selling service. What happens to it after that is set out in the Privacy Policy.
That is the complete list. There is no advertising pixel, no retargeting tag, no social-media tracking script and no session-recording tool on this site.
3. How to block or clear it - in every major browser
You do not need our permission and nothing here will break. Each browser has the setting in a slightly different place:
- Chrome (desktop): Settings → Privacy and security → Third-party cookies, and Delete browsing data to clear what is stored.
- Chrome (Android): the three-dot menu → Settings → Privacy and security → Delete browsing data.
- Safari (iPhone): Settings app → Safari → Clear History and Website Data, or Advanced → Website Data to clear this site alone.
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data.
- Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions.
- Any browser, privately: open this site in a private or incognito window and everything is discarded when you close it.
A practical note, since it comes up: if you are reading this site on a shared or family phone and would rather not leave a trace, a private window plus clearing the browser's history is more effective than any setting on our side. We would rather tell you that than pretend a cookie banner protects you.
4. Where the law stands
India does not currently have a standalone cookie-consent statute of the kind the EU has. What applies to us is the general framework: the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011, under which our Privacy Policy is published, and in due course the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, whose substantive obligations commence on 14 May 2027.
We have not waited for a rule to require restraint. The simplest privacy guarantee a website can offer is not to collect the data in the first place, and that is the position we have taken here.
Frequently asked questions
Does this site show me ads or follow me to other websites?
No. There is no advertising pixel, no retargeting tag and no cross-site profiling on this site. Nothing you read here follows you elsewhere.
Do I need to accept cookies to use the site?
No. Every page, menu, table and link works with browser storage blocked entirely.
What do you actually store in my browser?
At most a small amount of essential storage to keep the interface behaving - for instance, remembering that you closed a menu. It has no personal information in it and is not transmitted.
Do you use Google Analytics or something similar?
At most basic aggregate page statistics to see which guides are read. It is not joined to your enquiry, your phone number or your file, and it is not used to target you.
I am reading this on a shared family phone. How do I leave no trace?
Use a private or incognito window and clear your browser history afterwards. That is far more effective than any setting on our side, and we would rather say so plainly.
Does the enquiry form send my details to a marketing company?
No. It comes to us. It is not piped into any third-party marketing or lead-selling platform. What happens to it after that is set out in the Privacy Policy.
Do you honour a Do Not Track signal?
There is nothing for it to switch off here - we do not build a profile of you in the first place.
Is there an Indian law that forces a cookie banner?
Not currently a standalone one. The IT Act, 2000 and the SPDI Rules, 2011 apply now, and the substantive DPDP Act obligations commence on 14 May 2027. We have taken a restrained position without waiting to be told to.
