The fastest way to get a real answer

Most enquiries in this field start with 'how much for court marriage' and end in a quote that means nothing, because the price depends entirely on facts nobody has asked about yet.

So send these four things instead. It takes thirty seconds and it is enough for us to tell you which law governs your case, how long it will actually take, and what it will cost.

• Both of your ages. The statutory minimums are 21 for the man and 18 for the woman under section 4(c) of the Special Marriage Act, 1954.
• Has a marriage ceremony already taken place between you? If yes, you are in registration territory, not court marriage. This single question changes the answer for about half of the people who call us.
• Was either of you married before? If yes, we will need to see the decree or the death certificate - and the real question is whether the decree is final and the appeal window has run.
• Which area of Delhi do you live in? Your file goes to the SDM sub-division covering your residence, and that map changed on 1 January 2026.

Every way to reach us

One number for calls and WhatsApp, one email, one office. There is no call centre, no ticket queue and no bot.

If a message goes unanswered past those windows, send it again rather than assuming it was ignored - and if you have a deadline running, call. Do not treat an unanswered message as instruction given to a lawyer; a professional relationship starts only when a matter is accepted and engagement confirmed in writing.

What to send, depending on your situation

Photographs from a phone are fine - we are checking spellings, dates and whether the proof does the job it needs to do, not admiring the scan quality. Send only the pages listed; more of your data in anyone's hands is worse for you, not better.

Coming to the office

Getting here: Tis Hazari Metro Station on the Red Line is the nearest stop and the easiest way to arrive - the Tis Hazari courts complex is the landmark everyone in the area knows. From the metro it is a short walk; if you are driving, parking around Tis Hazari is tight on court working days, so the metro is genuinely faster most mornings.

Hours: Monday to Sunday, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Call before you set out. A booked slot means someone is free to sit and read your file rather than glance at it between other work.

What to bring: originals plus one photocopy set of whatever we have already discussed on WhatsApp, and both partners if anything needs signing. Originals go back to you the same day - we do not hold them.

What not to bring: money, on a first visit. Nothing is payable until you have a written quote and have agreed to it.

What happens after you contact us

Which government office is yours - and how to find it

You will need this whether or not you engage anyone. Your marriage file goes to the SDM sub-division that covers where you live, and Delhi's map changed with effect from 1 January 2026: 11 districts and 33 sub-divisions became 13 districts and 39 sub-divisions. Old Delhi, Central North and Outer North were created; Shahdara stopped being a district and survives as a sub-division of North East; seven sub-division names were dropped and four moved to a different district.

If a website tells you to go to the Kanjhawala or Kotwali sub-division office, it was written before that change. We rewrote every area page against the current official directory - each one names the sub-division, the district it now sits in, what that office asks for, and where a file from an abolished sub-division goes now.

Clause 5 of the Delhi (Compulsory Registration of Marriage) Order, 2014 also gives the SDM (HQ), the ADM and the DM concurrent jurisdiction across the whole of the NCT, which is the fallback when a sub-division boundary is genuinely unclear.

If your situation is urgent

Urgency is real and we take it seriously. But it helps to know in advance which kind of urgency can be solved and which cannot.

What speed can do: get your file checked today rather than next week, get an affidavit drafted the same day, get an appointment booked at the first available slot, get a correction application in before a visa interview, arrange witnesses when you have none, and stop you wasting a month on a document that was never going to work.

What speed cannot do: shorten the 30-day notice under the Special Marriage Act. Section 46 makes it an offence punishable with imprisonment for a Marriage Officer to solemnise in contravention of the Act, so no officer in Delhi will do it, at any price. If you are being sold a one-day court marriage, you are being sold something that does not exist.

Where a same-day answer genuinely exists: an Arya Samaj ceremony for an eligible Hindu couple can happen the same day. The government registration under section 8 of the Hindu Marriage Act is a separate step afterwards, and it is the registration - not the institution's certificate - that a passport office, bank or embassy will want. We explain the difference rather than blur it.

If the urgency is about safety rather than paperwork, say so first. Read police protection for couples in Delhi before filing anything, not after.

Contacting us safely

You can call from any number and ask us not to call back on it. Tell us which number and which hours are safe, and we will keep to them. If you would rather not have anything in writing on your phone at all, say so and we will keep it to voice.

We do not publish client names, photographs or case details anywhere, ever. We do not contact your family. We do not call your workplace. Nothing about your matter goes to anyone except the government office your file is being submitted to, an advocate working on it, or a service you have asked us to arrange - the full position is on our privacy policy page.

Things we will never ask you for

Marriage services attract impersonators, and a couple in a hurry is an easy target. Treat all of these as fixed facts about us:

Our number is +91 93184 23172. Our email domain is tatkalcourtmarriage.com. We will never ask for an OTP, a UPI PIN, a card CVV or a bank password. We will never ask you to pay into a personal account belonging to someone whose name and role you have not been given in writing. We will never tell you that paying extra will get the 30-day notice waived, because it cannot be waived. And we will never ask you to bring cash to a government counter for a 'file charge' - the government fee is Rs 15, Rs 100 or Rs 200, paid at the counter, with a receipt.

If anything you are being told contradicts this page, stop and call the number on this page before paying anyone anything.

If something goes wrong

Tell us first, and tell the person handling your matter directly. Most complaints in this work are a date that slipped without an explanation or a fee that was understood differently on each side, and both are usually settled in one phone call.

If that does not resolve it, email care@tatkalcourtmarriage.com with 'Grievance' in the subject line. You get an acknowledgement within 48 hours and a written resolution within 30 days - the outer limit Rule 5(9) of the SPDI Rules, 2011 allows. There is no charge for raising a grievance and it does not affect how your matter is handled.
